Hey guys I know its been a month or two and I apologized about that, but school was in full effect and I really had no time to blog until I got the rust off of me as it has been almost 15 years since I was in school. That being said I have something to get off my chest about this whole Sean Bell case.
I am just sick and tired of the whole fill a black man full of holes and nothing happens routine in NYC. It has become an epidemic in that city. And wha was Sean Bell’s crime or alleged crime? Being a black man, that’s it in a nut shell. Do we threaten most of the NYPD like that? Are we strike fear in a police force that one of the cops that got aquitted today shot into the car 31 count them, 31 times…. one cop. The offfice emptied a clip, reloaded and almost emptied another clip because they “thought” the men were carrying guns.
These are the modern day lynchings and it is just as legal and backed by the law as it was 50 years ago. When there are reports asking Barack Obama to prove how patriotic he is and how loyal he is to country, I don’t think it needs go any further then to look at the fact that black men can be killed at a moments notice in certain areas of the country and we are still here. Is there anything patriotic than that?
How can we feel safe as citizens if decisions like this is made. It is sign more death warrants for you black men. I hope everyone who was involved can sleep with an easy conscious know they have blood on their hands.

I came across an article that one of my “favorite” writers Jason Whitlock wrote about the new class of Hall of Fame inductees for 2008. Jason Whitlock basically goes on a rant about how this class is undeserving of the induction so honored to them. Whitlock rants on and on about how Fred Dean of the 49ers and Art Monk of the Redskins have no place in the HoF. My attention really came on Art Monk and how as Jason Whitlock stated that Art Monk had a really good career but not a Hall of Fame deserving career. Well Lets look at Art Monk’s career and really see if Jason Whitlock has any merit to his statement.
Let’s see, Art Monk is the first receiver in the NFL history to catch 900 career receptions. Monk also set the single season record for receptions with 106 that has since been broken. He also set the mark for the most consecutive games with a reception with 183 games. Did I mention 3 Super Bowl Rings????
The very fact that Jason Whitlock is blaming the cowardly writers for voting in players who do not deserve the induction is funny since he is in the same boat judging players on a professional game he has no experience in other than as a spectator.
Bottom line if Art Monk doesn’t deserve to be in the Hall of Fame than there are a lot of players that shouldn’t be there as well.

To Put it short, stop hatin because you never got to play pro football.

The “O” man, Barack Obama took it to Hillary Clinton this weekend, going 4 for 4 in Washington,Nebraska, Louisiana, and Maine. The first 3 states by a 2 to 1 margin. If this is any sign of things to come for Hillary Clinton, she maybe in trouble.
It has gotten alittle tense in Clinton land with Hillary Clinton replacing her campaign manager , Patti Solis Doyle, Doyle quit and was replaced by Maggie Williams another longtime aid.

If this weekend is any indication of what is to come for Hillary , she is in real trouble.
Next up, Chocolate City, Maryland, and Virgina. Yep Hillary is in real trouble

Well Super Tuesday came and went and the people have spoken, for the Republicans it’s obvious it’s gonna be John McCain. McCain is running away with this nomination at this point and it could get worse for Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee. Those two should just pack it in because it is over. The funny part is that the conservative base really don’t like John McCain too much so a Democrat is almost a lock to become president in my opinion. There is something about John McCain that reminds me of death and decay. He is just left-over parts from the Reagan glory years, the heyday of Conservative politics. He is just not to be trusted.

As far as the Democrats are concerned, it can’t get any closer. Don’t you get the feeling that even though Hillary Clinton won the most delegates last night she might be in trouble? I mean she won California, New York, and New Jersey to name a few, those are the supposed brass rings of delegates. That being said she doesn’t even have a 100 pt lead on Barack Obama. The upcoming states are huge Barack Obama supporters so we may see Mrs. Clinton shed some tears in the next couple of weeks. It should be interesting to watch , I know Hilary Clinton feels someone breathing down her neck.

We have all heard about the tragedy that happened to Phylicia Moore, an African-American girl from Teaneck, NJ that was on a good will tour in Ghana. I’m quite sure alot of you have not heard of Phylicia Moore and what happened to her, but basically the same thing that happened to Natalie Halloway without all of the media attention. Almost a year has passed and no leads have been found on what happened to Phylicia Moore. The one thing that stands out in both Phylicia Moore’s case and the Natalie Halloway case is that there were not a strong plan of room checks and safety checks for these kids.
Steve Rothman(D-Fair Lawn) is proposing to Congress a Law that will have stricter guidelines for American Students traveling abroad on school sponsored trips. It is called Phylica’s Law and it calls for written guidelines for students. As Congressman Rothman states :
Phylicia’s Law
says that at a minimum a safety plan should address policies on curfews, room checks, and chaperon qualifications, and emergency procedures to be followed in the case of serious injury or death. However, school districts, who know their own schools and students best, will have full discretion to set the specific requirements in a plan as they see fit. Parents will see the policies before approving a trip and can then determine whether they feel that it is safe for their child to go.
It is a nice gesture and I am glad someone is trying to put some safeguards in place however that doesn’t help the Phylicia Moore case at all. The FBI is suppose to be investigating now , so where is the update? How long do we have to wait to see some movement in this case. The world seemed to have been turned over for the Natalie Hollaway but authorities are dragging their feet in regards to giving Phylicia Moore’s parents some answers.
Here is a link to the website for Phylicia’s Law , on there you will see a link to sign a petition to have this law passed, please sign the petition!
There is The Phylicia Moore Scholarship Fund if you would like to donate in her honor.
