Adrianne Curry

I normally don’t give a hoot about anything to do with American’s Next Top Model but the first winner from the show, Adrianne Curry has kicked up some dirt recently with so entries in her blog. Apparently according to Adrianne Curry BET is a racist channel because it is geared towards one race and to her that is racist. Now I agree that BET is sick and racist but not because of her reasons but if she knew what she was talking about, the format of BET changed once Viacom bought BET thats when the real shucking and jiving began and it hasn’t been the same since. Adrianne Curry also thinks that black history month is racist and one month should not be dedicated to one race, not even the shortest month of the year.

Adrianne Curry like a lot of white folks and some black people as well, believe in this new term that we are all one race and one nation. With all that has happen in the last couple of years from Shaquanda Cotton ,the Jena 6, Sean Bell, and Genarlow Wilson you would think that these people like Adrianne Curry would reconsider this belief that we are all treated the same and that there are not two sets of rules in America. Adrianne Curry is certainly misguided in her beliefs and borderline on ignorant.

I’m just glad she is doing what she does and her opinion doesn’t have any power behind it! Just smile for the camera and keep your mouth shut Adrianne Curry, you are so much more attractive that way.

If your interested this is here blog : here

I was browsing the web checking out blogs I like to read and I came across a horrible story at Electronic Village about 15 year-old Mark Adkins who was on a joyride in a stolen car. Now let me start by saying that I in no way condone this boy being in a stolen car and running from the police. The problem happened when the K9 was sent to get the boy, the dog catches him and the police are over the him and the dog continues to attack. The dog attacks to the point where he CASTRATED the poor boy! You read that correctly the dog castrated the boy.

German Shepherd

Now I will say this again , I don’t agree with what the boy did and he should be punished in a court of law, but people, does the punishment fit the crime? I mean when will the brutality end against our youth? The flip side is when will some of our youth see the light and stop putting themselves in situations like this because it should be loud and clear that if you mess up they are holding nothing back on these kids. We who are adults have to get a better hold on our kids because there won’t be a future at this rate.

We have to get this through to our kids that they are not playing with them at all anymore.

Barrington Irving Arriving in Miami,FLWell we have all heard of Barrington Irving by now and what he has accomplished by being the first black man to fly around the world. The fact that he did it in a plane that he built makes an even more amazing accomplishment. I hope that he will be the inspiration for children for years to come. The questions that comes to my mind is who was Barringtion Irving’s predecessors? I have seen black commercial airline pilots and I know of a few military pilots but that is the present, where are the ones from that past eras? So I went on the hunt as usual and had to find these elusive black aviators of the past. Keep in mind that the Tuskegee Airmen are not on the list. For one it’s a group and secondly that’s far too easy.

Free The Jena 6

Well today is the day to wear black and for all to be in solidarity for the support of the 6 young prisoners in Jena, Louisiana. Sure the conviction of Mychal Bell was lessened and then thrown out but he is still in jail. The other 5 still have to go to trial on the original charges and God willing they will be thrown out also. That being said, why does it seem like there is an all out assault on our kids now? It seems like they are by-passing the adults and going straight for the kids now. The stories have been endless now from Shaquanda Cotton to Genarlow Wilson, it’s the same theme. Find an African-American kid in trouble and throw the gauntlet at them! It is time for us to see this for what it is, an all out attack on our kids, and with that we must act accordingly to protect our children. Racism has tampered with us now it is set focus directly on our children. The future is being tampered with, what will you do?

Rotimi AdebariWho would have thunk it ? A black man elected mayor in Ireland! Rotimi Adebari, a Nigerian immigrant was elected mayor of Portlaoise, a town about an hour west of Dublin. Portlaoise is a booming town with one of the fastest rising populations in the country. It has been a safe haven for immigrants seeking asylum from the countries or just a place to start a new life for them.

Rotimi Adebari arrived in Portlaoise 7 years ago as an immigrant seeking asylum from religious prosecution in Nigeria. Adebari,43, has been on the town council in Portlaoise since 2004 as an independant but has the back of both the right wing Fine Gael party and left-wing Sinn Fein. Since then he has finished a master’s degree in intercultural studies at Dublin City University, founded a consultancy advising authorities and immigrant groups on how to work together, and hosts a weekly radio show.

What he says most of his times in Ireland should echo and strike a cord within the fiber of his brotheren here in the United States.

“I want to encourage immigrants to be a force in their communities, to engage with their communities,” he said. “People will get to know you. Their perception of you will change just like that. That’s what happened to me”

Let’s Applaud Rotimi Adebari on breaking down racial barriers
